Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mix XtremeImage-2K and XtremeImage-4K cards in the same system?

No — each card is only compatible with other cards of the same model. A system should be built entirely from XtremeImage-2K cards or entirely from XtremeImage-4K cards, not a mixture of the two.

What cables should I use?

Premium, certified HDMI cables are required for reliable output at full bandwidth — a cheap or overlength cable is one of the most common causes of dropped signal on a 4K60 output.

How many displays can one system drive?

Up to 32 HD or 16 4K outputs from 8x XtremeImage-2K cards, or up to 24 4K (96 HD) outputs from 6x XtremeImage-4K cards, depending which model the system is built around.

Does it need EMS capture cards specifically?

It's designed and tested against the Xtreme capture card range for full HDCP 2.2 compatibility — pairing with a different manufacturer's capture card isn't guaranteed to work the same way.
